One more cell phone test
On week 2 of my blog (May 12, 2024) I made some snarky comments about the people who prod you to thinking cell phone addiction resulted in a weak mind. Well, shortly thereafter, my one year old iPhone died, which is how my mental test period started.
Upon realizing my fate, I spent the day denying that my phone died. Next, a visit to Verizon confirmed that it was dead, and they directed me to their contract repair shop. There, I was given hope that the problem was just related to the battery, but four hours later, I was given the final diagnosis: dead.
The repair period took 4 days. The fourth day was related to a delivery mishap and may this never happen to you . . . you see, if you ever need to contact Verizon about a dead phone, the only way you can talk to anyone is when they can verify that you are really you by (get this) calling you on your dead phone.

After several hours of fooling around trying to break through Verizon's verification processes, I never did get through. Instead, I just gave up trying and hoped that somehow all the connections would be made, and my phone delivered. Think of it as "the power of prayer."

I now have a replacement phone. All's good. And yes, I could never earn that proverbial million dollars by going a month without it, should such an offer ever be made.

Gradual aging is marked by changes in one's skin and body shape, especially the face. This series is about how easy it is to maintain one's face shape without outside help.
The appearance of aging is characterized by downturned lips, sagging cheeks, and deep frown lines. Bad lighting can exacerbate these signs, making most of us look older than we feel. Fortunately, this can be addressed without medical intervention, costly plastic surgery, or avoiding Zoom conversations.
Free Face Lifts!
In the 1980s, when I was around 40 years old, I wrote and hired an illistrator to create a book on facial exercise. Although I had the public's interest, I never published it because, while my chin was strong, my skin was pockmarked with the aftereffects of acne, and I didn't think I was a great model for my own work.

Now, at 80, I'm used to the way my skin looks and given what I know now (which wasn't apparent at 40), it's time for me to tell the world that "face re-shaping absolutely works." This can be easily proven by using selfies, which are before and after pictures taken with cell phones, something we didn't have until the very late 1900s.

Next week, I'll share with you the best video on facial exercise I've seen on the web (although there are several very good ones) and will follow that up with tips that will keep you looking fresh and happy whether in person or over Zoom.

I publish every Sunday and rarely send out emails to remind you to tune in, even if you do sign up, which I hope you do.
Please stop back weekly for my series on FREE FACE LIFTS as well as other tips on how to turn thoughts of "aging" into "aging is just ongoing life...use it wisely!"
